Bobby Smyrniotis Named CPL Manager of the Month for September

Forge FC’s Head Coach and Sporting Director Bobby Smyrniotis has been named the Canadian Premier League (CPL) Manager of the Month for September, adding yet another accolade to his ever-growing list of achievements. In what has been a stellar campaign, Smyrniotis led Forge to a 3-1-0 record in September, as the team clinched a spot at the top of the CPL table, securing the CPL Shield.

Under Smyrniotis’ leadership, Forge FC tallied seven goals in four games and managed to record a crucial clean sheet during this stretch. These results were pivotal in Forge’s race to solidify their position atop the standings, demonstrating not only the team’s attacking flair but also a strong defensive foundation. Smyrniotis’ tactical acumen and ability to motivate his squad have been evident throughout the season, and September was no exception.

A standout feature of September’s campaign was Forge’s consistent ability to dominate matches and close out victories, even against the stiffest competition. The team’s resilience and relentless pursuit of excellence reflect Smyrniotis’ philosophy of attacking football and high standards on both sides of the ball. The three victories earned in September were key in the club’s eventual clinch of the CPL Shield, marking another historic moment for the Hamilton-based club.
This award only strengthens Bobby Smyrniotis’ case as a frontrunner for CPL Coach of the Year, an honour that would hardly be surprising given his track record of success. With multiple CPL titles already to his name, Smyrniotis has set the benchmark for coaching in the league, and his tactical brilliance and leadership have played a massive role in shaping Forge FC’s identity.

As the CPL playoffs approach, Smyrniotis will undoubtedly have his eyes on the next target: the North Star Cup. Forge FC’s pedigree in knockout competitions is well-established, and with the CPL Shield now secured, the focus will shift to adding another piece of silverware to the club’s already impressive trophy cabinet.
