Cavalry FC and Forge FC scored a goal apiece on Saturday as Leg 1 of their CPL semifinal ended 1-1 at ATCO Field.
On a gorgeous afternoon at the Spruce Meadows complex in Calgary, the home side scored first, as Daan Klomp headed home a Joe Mason cross just before halftime to make it 1-0. Right after the break, however, Forge struck back as Woobens Pacius got his head to a Kyle Bekker free-kick cross to equalize.
Although the Cavs pressed heavily in the final few moments in front of the Foot Soldiers, they ultimately couldn’t find a second goal. Still, all is to play for in next Sunday’s second leg in Hamilton.
