FORGE FC ATTACKER KEVAUGHN TAVERNIER CALLED UP U-20 CANADIAN MEN’S NATIONAL TEAM

Forge FC attacker Kevaughn Tavernier has been called up to Canada’s U-20 men’s national team for the 2024 Concacaf Under-20 Championship Qualifiers. The three-game group stage will take place in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago and serve as a qualifier to the 2024 Concacaf Under-20 Championship this summer. The tournament’s host and draw details will be published following the conclusion of the Qualifiers.

Canada has been drawn in Group D, where they will face Dominica, St. Vincent & The Grenadines and Trinidad & Tobago. The team will begin the group stage against Dominica on Friday 23 February, followed by St. Vincent & The Grenadines on Sunday 25 February, and concluding against Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday 27 February. Canada will gather in Trinidad & Tobago on Friday 16 February in preparation for the Qualifiers.

Tavernier is currently on a short-term contract with Forge FC and had previously signed a development contract with the club on June 25, 2023, going on to make his first appearance on September 9, 2023, against Cavalry FC and his first professional start on September 17, 2023, versus Valour FC. The young attacker has also earned experience at the continental club level making an appearance for Forge FC in the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup against C.D. Guadalajara on Febraury 7, 2024. The youth prospect represented Canada at the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup and has now earned his first call up to the U-20 Canada youth set up.
