First off, let’s talk about where I come from. I’m a proud mix of Canadian, Jamaican, and British descent. My diverse background shapes who I am and adds layers of richness to my experiences, both on and off the soccer field.

My journey wouldn’t be half as exciting without the amazing duo – my parents. They’re not just my role models; they’re my everyday inspiration. Their unwavering support and belief in me have been the driving force behind every kick, every goal, and every challenge I’ve faced.

Why soccer? Well, blame it on my parents’ desire to keep me active. They threw me into every sport imaginable, but soccer grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. It’s more than just a game; it’s a language, a way for me to express myself and connect with people from all walks of life.

What’s not to love about soccer? It’s this beautiful fusion of unity and freedom. On the field, people from different corners of the world come together, united by a common passion. Those moments when the game flows effortlessly – that’s where I find true freedom and happiness.

One of those moments of freedom and happiness that stands out in my life is stepping onto the pitch at Estadio Akron against Chivas in the Concacaf Champions Cup match. It wasn’t just a game; it was a culmination of hard work, determination, and the realization that dreams do come true.

Challenges are part and parcel of an athlete’s journey. What keeps me going? The thrill of overcoming obstacles. There’s power in putting your head down, working tirelessly, and proving to yourself that you can conquer anything.

Here’s a fun fact that many might not know – I did my schooling in America, Providence to be exact, and I have a degree in finance along with an MBA. If soccer weren’t my calling, you might have found me navigating the world of finance.

As we dive into Black History Month, it’s crucial to recognize that celebrating Black excellence should extend beyond a month on the calendar. Every day, every moment – it’s an opportunity to highlight the incredible contributions of Black athletes, artists, and creators within our community.

So, that’s a glimpse into my world – the passion for soccer, the love for family, and the celebration of black excellence. Let’s keep the spirit alive not just this month but every day. Much love to each one of you!
