Forge FC drew with Honduran side FC Motagua 2-2 in their Concacaf League Semi-Final first leg tie at Tim Hortons Field, Hamilton, Ont on Wednesday.
Motagua opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Kevin López converted on a 10-man Forge side left shorthanded by an injury to centreback Daniel Krutzen. The Hondurans added a second after the 65th minute when Marcelo Pereira converted a free header.
The Hamiltonians earned what appeared to be only a consultation late on when Josh Navarro scored a lean-away header… Only for Kwame Awuah to tap home a rebound with nearly the last kick of the match.
Both teams will now shift their attention to the second leg set to be played next Wednesday, December 1st at Estadio Tiburcio Carias Andino in Tegucigalpa, Honduras (8:00pm ET).
The winner will advance to the Finals set to be played between December 7-9 (first leg) and December 14-15 (second leg).
