Position Type: Seven Month Internship
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Intern, Equipment Manager will support the day-to-day operations of the Forge FC Equipment
Management team, ensuring that all equipment needs for training, matches, and player
preparation are met. Acting as a key support to the equipment staff, the intern will assist with
inventory management, equipment distribution, and match-day setup. This role provides hands-
on experience in a professional sports environment and is ideal for candidates passionate about
soccer, equipment logistics, and team operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in the daily management and organization of team equipment, including uniforms,
training gear, and game-day necessities.
• Support inventory tracking and control to ensure proper distribution and maintenance of
all team gear.
• Prepare, set up, and break down training sessions, ensuring all necessary equipment is
available and in good condition.
• Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and organizing team apparel.
• Help coordinate player and coaching staff equipment needs, ensuring all requests are
fulfilled promptly.
• Support match-day operations, including locker room setup, bench area preparation, and
post-game breakdown.
• Assist in ensuring all equipment is transported and stored properly for both home and
away matches.
• Work closely with the Equipment Manager and coaching staff to support player
performance through proper gear management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all equipment storage areas.• Collaborate with other departments to support marketing, community relations, and
business development efforts related to soccer operations.
QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE)
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
efficiently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• A team player with a positive attitude, capable of working collaboratively and
independently.
• Basic understanding of soccer equipment needs and operations within a professional
sports setting.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) is an asset.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Previous experience in equipment management, sports operations, or a related field is an
asset but not required.
• Experience working with athletic teams, whether at the collegiate, amateur, or
professional level, is preferred.
• Must be enrolled in a college/university program.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and match days.
• Access to reliable transportation is required.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Must be able to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
